ASAHIKAWA FREERIDE EXPLORER
On the rare occasion there hasn’t been new snow for some days, (and if the group is up for it) we will offer to take the group on a hiking tour for 1 x day, to access untracked powder. We will provide snow shoes & gear accordingly.
In this tour we focus on hitting Central Hokkaido’s multiple resorts, with very few people. Hidden gems that will blow your mind. You don't need to go off-piste or into the backcountry if a resorts' on-piste slopes have 30cms of fresh snow, and there is no one around! We will also take you to the larger more famous resorts, including: Asahidake, Kamui, Furano & Pippu.
When applicable, will take you into the lift-assisted side & backcountry of these resorts, where you can ride or walk out (without the need of ski skins, snowshoes or a split-board) If a beacon, shovel & probe are required for a certain location, they will be provided for you). Our experienced, locally based guides, will choose the best location of the day, based on the conditions & wind. (Please read our google reviews!) We know where the best snow will be!

TOUR FOCUS: Lift assisted powder chasing
ABILITY: Intermediate - This is not a beginners tour. To join this tour, you must be an intermediate to advanced rider & and be able to safely maneuver in trees. Off-piste snow sports insurance is mandatory to participate. If you have little experience riding in powder snow, don't worry. Our guides will give you time to get used to it on the main runs or easier areas before taking you into more difficult terrain. After the first day, you will be dialed in!

Our 2027 Asahikawa guiding packages are based out of the Amanek Hotel Asahikawa, widely considered the ultimate hub for chasing Central Hokkaido powder. Staying in the heart of Asahikawa gives us perfect daily flexibility to storm-chase the best snow across Kamui, Asahidake, and Furano, while placing you steps away from the legendary ramen shops and izakayas of the Asahikawa downtown district. A convenient 7-eleven is 30 metres away, directly across the road, for ATM, cold beer & snacks.
Top-Floor Natural Onsen & Sauna: The rooftop natural hot spring and cold-plunge sauna are included daily—essential after a hard day riding deep Hokkaido pow.

Basing out of downtown Asahikawa means we aren't locked into one mountain's weather pattern. If Asahidake is blasted by high winds and visibility drops to zero, we simply pivot our private vans 45 minutes to the sheltered tree lines of Kamui Ski Links or head down to Furano. You get the best snow in the region every single morning, with zero wasted storm days.
